Work From Home
My desk setup & home office essentials
Exactly one month after we transitioned to WFH I transformed our guest room into the perfect virtual office
LG 49WL95C-W - LED Curved Monitor
This 49” ultra-wide monitor is the focal point of the office. Although a bit overkill my partner and I can sit side by side comfortably as it has the capacity to take in dual inputs. From a work perspective, I love the ability to have multiple screens open and at its full size I can see columns A - AZ in Excel…
Logi MX Keys
This wireless keyboard has the optimal click, clack to satisfy any keyboard enthusiast. It’s auto-backlit, slim profile and has a numeric keypad. Perfectly paired with the Logi MX palm rest which came for free when I bought it!
Logi MX Master 3
Following the Logi theme - when researching the perfect wireless mouse this was a clear winner from an ergonomics, scroll wheel and multi-functionality perspective. Similar to the keyboard I love that I can switch between my work and personal laptop effortlessly as the pairing is instant.
Extra-large Mouse Pad
This mouse pad is the perfect home-base for your keyboard and mouse. It looks sleek and allows for plenty of mouse movement (more for PowerPoint and Excel rather than gaming in my case).
Logi C922 Pro Stream 1080p HD Webcam
In 2020, webcams were permanently in backorder!! After searching endlessly for my webcam from the MSN days without luck - I splurged on this webcam. My co-workers can now see me in HD + I no longer have to crane my neck over my laptop for every video meeting.
3 in 1 Wireless Apple Charging Station
For the die-hard Apple fans out there this charging station is the perfect home for your iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. The charging station keeps things organized and minimizes the charging cables to just 1! This would also be a great addition to a bedside table.
Vertical Laptop Stand
Marie Kondo would be proud as I seem to have a “home for everything” - laptops are no exception. Since I primarily use my monitor, I keep my work and personal laptop connected but docked off to the side in this adjustable vertical stand.
Google Nest WiFi Router
This Google Nest doubles as a router (for ultra-fast internet connection) and speaker (for jamming out to Spotify tunes). Embarrassingly we have 34 devices connected to our router aka our home can’t function without the internet!
12-Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector
This 12-outlet power bar is heavy-duty enough to power all our office devices. Pro-tip: we command taped it to the bottom of the desk to create the illusion of minimalism.
Cable Management Box
A new addition to the office family! I use to keep the cables that have to come onto the desk in an open box but found it to look too cluttered. This cable management box stores all laptop chargers, dongles, and other random chargers.
Lightstrips
This small touch creates an angelic glow around the desk which is the perfect ambiance for working into the night. The lightstrips are easy to install with command tape and pairs well with Google Home.
DIY Office Table
After contemplating a standing desk and researching different desk options with no success. I decided to DIY one myself by pairing the IKEA Karlby (kitchen) countertop with these Amazon Hairpin legs. If you’re looking for extra storage you can also use the IKEA Alex Drawer unit as legs.
Autonomous MyoChair
My dining chair wasn’t cutting it and after being slightly tempted by the Herman Miller but couldn’t justify the price tag…I gave into my Instagram ads. The MyoChair with headrest and legrest was the answer to all my ergonomic problems.
Kneeling Chair
Not pictured but I also invested in this economic kneeling chair to switch things up every now and then. The tilted seat helps with better posture while also providing a comfortable alternative way to sit.
